This grant provides the full program for teens, as required by the state of Wisconsin, and includes teaching both in the classroom and behind the wheel. For students who already have a driver's license, the course is designed to help students become self-sufficient and risk-free drivers. Starting August 1, 2025, Florida teens under 18 must complete a state-approved driver's education course to obtain a learner's license.
Students who complete driver education through FLVS will receive the required documentation and clear instructions on what to bring to the driving school in their area. All questions are based on your state's official driving manual, so you're studying exactly what will be on the test. FLVS has been offering a road safety education course for more than 20 years, and more than 900,000 students have completed it since its inception. For teens who don't have a learner's license, driver's education is designed to prepare them for the learner license exam (class E knowledge test).
If a student already has a learner's license, the driver's education course includes instructions on how to pass the driving skills test required to obtain a driver's license. Students who complete the road safety course with FLVS can take the online learner's license exam for free. If your child only completed a driving and substance abuse (TLSAE) education course and not a FLHSMV-approved driver's education course, you may need to take a driver's education course if you apply for a learner's license starting August 1, 2020. Upon successful completion of the driver education course, students become certified to obtain the license and those under 15 years of age or older can take the license exam (Class E knowledge exam) online for FREE. Under the MVD, any adult over 18 who completes a driver's education course and receives a certificate of completion will not meet the MVD's provisional license requirement.
